SPIT
America's Sweetheart / PFI Records

If John Waters and Ron Jeremy had a love child, Vinnie Spit would be him. Somewhat of an X-Rated Weird Al, Spit's favorite topics are the ones that Pat Robertson would contract a hit over. Pedophile priests, sex-for-hire and male genitalia are just a few of the over-the-topics he tackles on this, his 13th release.

The tunes on this one trace the life of a man named Bill. Between each tune is dialogue setting up the scene for the next song. The album opens with Bill's birth, complete with screaming mother and doctor, segueing neatly into the tune "Born out the Anus." The next track features dialogue as Bill's mother takes him to his first day of school, followed by the song "Father Peter: The Pedophile Priest." The liner notes introduce the song with the following caption: "Meet William Williams. Billy, as his parents call him, is a clean slate. He's ripe, vulnerable and ready to experience all the world has to offer. Child rearing is such a joy for the Williams. Their beautiful baby boy is growing up so fast. Before long, it's time to send young Billy off to school for his first taste of American education.

"Of course, public schools can be so dangerous these days. With all the shootings and gang activity, the Williams decide to send Billy to a Catholic school, where he will be safe."

The following tune attacks everything about Catholicism with almost violent abandon.

It's the running theme of the disc, which includes tunes titled, "Is That Your Pussy?" "Shake Your Ass Til a Turd Falls Out" and "If I Ever Meet God, I'm Gonna Punch Him In The Face."

To be honest, most of the humor is under the gutter-and fairly pedantic. It's almost as if Spit is parodying himself.
